COUNTY AUDITOR – Bonnie L. Smith
The auditor is the fiscal officer for the county, responsible for maintenance and examination of the county’s finances. The final county budget must be certified by the auditor. They provide a number of services including:
- Aid in the annual independent audit of the financial transactions of the county.
- Work with all taxing districts within the county to set the amount of revenue they will levy against property taxes each year.
- Pay expenses of the county based on the budget.
