Service/Processing Fee Info:
Telephone/Online Payment Information: Property taxes can be paid by an automatic withdrawal of funds from your bank account (eCheck) or with a debit/credit card (VISA, MasterCard, DISCOVER). There is no additional service/processing fee for eCheck payments. The SERVICE/PROCESSING FEE charged for debit/credit card transactions is 2.5% of the transaction amount (minimum $1.50).
What is a SERVICE/PROCESSING FEE? The SERVICE/PROCESSING FEE represents the fee charged by the credit card company for processing the transaction. This fee does not come to Millard County.
Why do I have to pay a SERVICE/PROCESSING FEE to use my credit/debit card? Millard County has chosen not to raise taxes on ALL taxpayers to pay for credit card processing fees. Instead the taxpayer choosing to use their credit/debit card pays the fee for the convenience of using a credit/debit card.
In order to comply with the tax code, the Millard County Treasurer uses a third party (Secure Instant Payments) to process credit card payments. Secure Instant Payments charges a SERVICE/PROCESSING FEE for processing the payments. This process allows the Millard County Treasurer’s office to receive 100% of the tax amount paid, which we are statutorily required to distribute to the various taxing entities within Millard County.
Please note: Your statement will describe your payment as CBT*MILLARD COUNTY UT and the service/processing fee transaction as CBT*SVC FEE MILLARD C. When using electronic payments, your payment will be credited to your account once funds are confirmed as received from the third party provider (typically 3-5 business days). Please plan accordingly.
